The study compared outcomes of 1st generation and 3rd generation wavefront-guided (WFG) treatments in femtosecond laser-assisted LASIK for myopia. The 3rd generation group showed superior results with 95.9% achieving 20/20 or better uncorrected vision compared to 91.3% in the 1st generation. Binocularly, 99.2% of the 3rd generation achieved 20/20 or better, outperforming the 1st generation (97.0%). Postoperative mean spherical equivalent was +0.19 D in the 3rd generation, while it was −0.01 D in the 1st generation. Refractive astigmatism correction index was better in the 3rd generation. The study suggests that 3rd generation treatments showed better visual acuity outcomes and higher patient satisfaction.
