
A new study has found that 15% of sexually active patients with acute epididymitis experience hematospermia (blood in semen) one day before scrotal symptoms appear. The study also revealed significantly elevated levels of prostate-specific antigen in these individuals. The study identified Escherichia coli and Chlamydia trachomatis as the most common pathogens associated with epididymitis. Additionally, semen analysis after 14 days showed that 24% of patients still had hematospermia, accompanied by significant leukocytospermia.
