A conceptual framework has been developed to address eating and swallowing difficulties among persons living with dementia (PLWD), focusing on the environmental, social, and structural factors affecting care. The framework incorporates individual, system, and community-level resources, identifying areas at risk for inequitable care. This approach highlights the need for future research to reconcile clinical care with the lived realities of PLWD, improving care quality in lower-resourced settings.
