Conditional survival does not improve over time in metastatic castration‐resistant prostate cancer patients undergoing docetaxel

The study aimed to examine the survival rates of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) patients undergoing docetaxel chemotherapy. The researchers analyzed data from multiple clinical trials and calculated the 6-month conditional overall survival (OS) at various time points. They also stratified the patients into low- and high-risk groups based on a previously developed predictive model. The results showed that the longer a patient survived, the more likely they were to continue surviving. The study suggests that this prognostic information can be valuable for tailoring follow-up and treatment strategies, and facilitating personalized medicine for mCRPC patients.
