This study analyzed data from 1997 to 2019 to examine eye injuries in children treated in US emergency departments related to consumer products. The rate of eye injuries initially increased but then decreased by 32.1% by 2019. Contact with non-chemical products was the leading cause of eye injuries, except for children under 5 years old who were mostly affected by contact with chemical products.
