COPD Phenotypes Show Distinct Exacerbation Risk Profiles

The study analyzed 3436 patients with COPD, categorized into chronic bronchitis, emphysema, non-CB, and PRISm groups. Distinct correlation patterns were observed between clinical parameters and future exacerbations across phenotypes. While low FEV1, elevated inflammatory markers, and poor symptom scores were common risk factors, each phenotype exhibited unique predictors. These findings highlight the importance of personalized approaches in managing COPD subtypes to improve outcomes.
