This study investigated the association between cord plasma metabolites and children's height from birth to adolescence, using data from the Boston Birth Cohort. The study found that distinct cord metabolite types were associated with attained height at different developmental windows, and that there were significant overall effects on height trajectories from birth to adolescence. These associations differed by children's sex and overweight/obesity status. The study sheds light on the metabolic pathways underlying fetal origins of height growth across developmental stages.
