Corneal arcus may enhance clear corneal incision (CCI) sealing in cataract surgery, reducing the need for stromal hydration. In a cohort study of 83 eyes, 34 eyes (41.0%) had a partial corneal arcus, and 33 eyes (39.8%) had circumferential arcus. The study found a significant association between circumferential corneal arcus and decreased need for hydration (OR = 0.0590, p = 0.0085). Surgical time increased the need for hydration (OR = 1.7313, p = 0.0085), while age had no significant impact.
