The cost-effectiveness of the Dexcom G6 real-time continuous glucose monitoring (rt-CGM) system was compared to self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG) and Abbott FreeStyle Libre 1 and 2 intermittently scanned CGM (is-CGM) devices in people with type 1 diabetes in Denmark. The use of rt-CGM resulted in a gain of quality-adjusted life years (QALYs) and was projected to be highly cost-effective compared to both SMBG and is-CGM. These findings can inform policies to improve access to rt-CGM.
