A study published in BMJ Open evaluated the seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 among local authority workers in the Centre Val de Loire region of France. The cohort included 3228 participants aged 18 to 65, who were tested using a rapid serological test. The results showed an estimated seroprevalence of 3.04% among the workers, with no significant difference based on their position or contact with the public. However, variations were observed among different investigating centers, related to geographical location. The study concluded that contact with the public did not significantly affect SARS-CoV-2 seroprevalence if protective measures were implemented. Childcare workers were found to be at a higher risk of infection.
