A study involving 461 chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) patients shed light on patient preferences for symptom assessment. Most participants (40%) favored a 1-month symptom recall period, while 56.9% preferred treatment recommendations based on symptoms experienced over >1 month. The study also found that four- and five-item Likert scales were the easiest to understand and use. Researchers recommend future CRS patient-reported outcome measures adopt a 1-month recall period and four- or five-item Likert response scales to align with patient preferences.
