
This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of cryocompression therapy in preventing chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy in gynecologic cancer patients undergoing neurotoxic chemotherapy. The randomized trial involved applying cryocompression to one hand and foot while leaving the other side untreated as a control. The primary outcome measures included the Patient Neurotoxicity Questionnaire (PNQ) and the Semmes-Weinstein monofilament test. The results indicated a 46% reduction in sensory neuropathy on the cryocompression-treated side compared to the control side. The study also revealed improved FACT/GOG-NTX scores on the cryocompression side, highlighting the therapy's efficacy in reducing chemotherapy-induced peripheral sensory neuropathy in gynecologic cancer patients.
