
The study investigated the clinical significance and mechanism of Cysteine‐rich protein 2 (CSRP2) in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). CSRP2 was overexpressed in HNSCC patients and correlated with poor prognosis. Knockdown of CSRP2 inhibited migration and invasion of HNSCC cells and affected cancer stemness and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) phenotypes. CSRP2 expression was closely associated with CSC markers, EMT-transcription factors, new oncoproteins, and immune checkpoints. The findings suggest that CSRP2 plays a crucial role in HNSCC by maintaining cancer cell stemness and EMT.
