Culture, ethnicity, and socio‐economic status as determinants of the management of patients with advanced heart failure who need palliative care: A clinical consensus statement from the Heart Failure Association (HFA) of the ESC, the ESC Patient Forum, and the European Association of Palliative Care

This review discusses the importance of promoting cultural competence in healthcare, specifically in managing patients with advanced heart failure who may benefit from palliative care. As societies become more diverse due to increasing migration, healthcare providers must be aware of cultural nuances to provide effective person-centered care. Minority populations often face discrimination and inequity in accessing optimal clinical support. The review highlights the need for medical and nursing staff to navigate cultural diversity sensitively, offering practical guidance and evidence-based recommendations to enhance cultural competence in patient care.
