Daily Low-Level Red Light for Spherical Equivalent Error and Axial Length in Children With Myopia

A recent study evaluated the effectiveness and safety of daily 650-nm low-level red light (LLRL) for treating myopia in children. The results showed significant differences in myopia progression between the groups over 6 and 12 months. The LLRL group showed a smaller increase in spherical equivalent refraction (SER) and axial length (AL) compared to the control group, indicating slower myopia progression. Importantly, no adverse retinal changes were observed. The study suggests that LLRL treatment could be a promising approach to slowing myopia progression in children.
