The randomized controlled trial compared dextrose prolotherapy (DPTx) and intra-articular normal saline (IA-NS) injections in 50 knee osteoarthritis patients. Both treatments significantly improved pain, function, and knee extension over 8 weeks (p < 0.001). Although DPTx showed slightly better outcomes, differences were not statistically significant (p > 0.05). Adverse events were minor and resolved by week 4. Further research is needed to confirm these findings.
