Artificial intelligence (AI) demonstrates remarkable accuracy in early detection of retinitis pigmentosa (RP), as evidenced by a meticulous meta-analysis of 920,162 ophthalmic images across 14 studies. Pooled sensitivity and specificity reach outstanding levels at 0.985 and 0.993, respectively, while the area under the receiver operating characteristic (AUROC) attains an impressive 0.999. This study underscores AI's transformative potential in enhancing diagnostic precision for RP.
