Diagnostic Performance and Safety of a Novel Ferumoxytol-Enhanced Coronary Magnetic Resonance Angiography

Cardiovascular Imaging reports the success of a novel ferumoxytol-enhanced coronary magnetic resonance angiography (CMRA) in 30 patients. The noninvasive procedure showcased a sensitivity of 100% and specificity of 66.7%, outperforming traditional computed tomography scanning. With no adverse effects during the 3-month follow-up, the procedure proves excellent safety. The ferumoxytol-enhanced CMRA presents a promising alternative for diagnosing significant coronary stenosis, reducing radiation exposure and risks associated with iodinated contrast.
