A multicenter study aimed to assess the efficacy of cortical lesions (CLs) and the central vein sign (CVS) in distinguishing multiple sclerosis (MS) from other conditions with brain lesions on MRI. The study, covering data from 1051 individuals, found that combining CLs and CVS enhanced diagnostic accuracy, outperforming conventional MRI features. CVS, with an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.89, surpassed CLs (AUC of 0.77). Together, they achieved an AUC of 0.92, indicating their potential as valuable tools for improving MS diagnosis.
