A 12-week diet improves cardiometabolic outcomes but not vascular function in insulin-resistant adults. This sub-analysis of the PERSON study involved 101 participants (54 women, aged 61 ± 7 years, BMI 27.6 kg/m²). Both low-fat, high-protein, high-fibre (LFHP) and Mediterranean (HMUFA) diets significantly reduced blood pressure, cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, and Framingham risk score. The LFHP diet showed greater improvements in cholesterol, blood pressure, and insulin resistance compared to the Mediterranean diet.
