DOACs vs VKAs in TURB: No Significant Difference in Bleeding Risks

Postoperative bleeding in TURB patients was similar for those on direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) and vitamin K antagonists (VKAs), with no significant differences in re-catheterization, re-intervention, or blood transfusion rates. Only 3 patients in the DOAC group required blood transfusions, and no thromboembolic events were observed. All bleeding complications occurred within two weeks, suggesting a safe window to restart oral anticoagulation. Overall, TURB carried low morbidity in anticoagulated patients.
