Pune is experiencing a surge in respiratory infections, particularly among children, due to changing weather patterns and a higher presence of virulent viruses in the atmosphere. The onset of the monsoon has led to a 25% rise in outpatient respiratory infections and diarrhoea cases. Additionally, indoor admissions have increased by 10% due to dengue, dengue-like illnesses, and the flu. Paediatricians warn of children experiencing convulsions with fever caused by dengue and requiring hospitalization.
