A pilot RCT (NCT05248139) is evaluating the safety of a single subconjunctival triamcinolone injection vs topical prednisolone drops for preventing inflammation after manual small incision cataract surgery (MSICS). The injection, combined with intracameral moxifloxacin, may offer a safe, adherence-free alternative to 250+ self-administered postoperative eye drops in low-resource settings.

Direct CFD validation of a representative design showed 55.6% lower hemolysis, 46.9% lower platelet activation, 27.0% shorter exposure time, and 17.2% lower torque, while low-shear fraction improved by 4.5%.
