A study involving 311 adults with prurigo nodularis revealed that a significantly greater proportion of patients treated with dupilumab, compared to placebo, achieved clinically meaningful improvements in patient-reported outcomes at week 24. Dupilumab-treated patients showed higher responder rates for itch (58.8% vs 19.0%), skin pain (49.7% vs 20.9%), sleep disturbance (42.5% vs 23.4%), and dermatology-related quality of life (64.7% vs 22.8%). Additionally, a significantly higher percentage of dupilumab patients (24.8% vs. 6.3%) experienced simultaneous improvements in symptoms and quality of life. The time to achieve clinically meaningful improvements was also significantly shorter with dupilumab compared to placebo. These findings demonstrate the substantial benefits of dupilumab in managing the debilitating symptoms and quality of life impacts associated with prurigo nodularis.
