This study evaluates the incidence and impact of early bleeding on long-term mortality following left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO). Analyzing 592 patients, researchers found that 14% experienced early bleeding within three months post-procedure. Early bleeding was linked to a higher risk of all-cause mortality. Predictors included intracranial bleeding history, non-paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, CHA2DS2VASc score, and early device-related thrombosis. Effective management of early bleeding is crucial for better outcomes.
