Early, Frequent Physical Therapy Reduces Intra-Articular Therapy Need

A study of 67,245 knee OA patients found that starting PT within a month of diagnosis reduced the likelihood of future intra-articular therapy. Delayed PT initiation (9–12 months) increased risk by 44% (RR 1.44). Completing 13+ PT sessions lowered risk by 10–12%, regardless of PT type. These findings highlight the importance of early and sustained PT intervention.
