The study uncovered a significant increase in SP-D levels with gestational age while revealing a notable link between SP-D and clinical chorioamnionitis with fetal involvement. Furthermore, SP-D demonstrated an inverse relationship with bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) development, particularly in neonates between 27- and 28-week gestation.
