Effect of omega 3 fatty acid in infertile males with oligozoospermia

A recent study conducted at the Department of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility reveals promising results for male infertility treatment. Oligozoospermia, a leading cause in 33.3% of male infertility cases, saw significant improvement through omega-3 fatty acid supplementation. In a 12-week study involving 70 participants, those treated with 1 gm of omega-3 fatty acid orally twice daily showed a substantial increase in sperm count from 11.10 million/ml to 34.2 million/ml. Additionally, 76.7% of participants in the omega-3 group achieved normozoospermia, compared to only 10.0% in the placebo group. The study highlights the potential efficacy of omega-3 supplementation in addressing male infertility.
