A study involving 1893 patients with acute moderate ischemic stroke evaluated the effectiveness of remote ischemic conditioning (RIC), a procedure involving repeated occlusion/release cycles on upper limb arteries. RIC alongside standard treatment led to a significantly higher rate of excellent functional outcomes at 90 days (67.4%) than standard treatment alone (62.0%). RIC holds promise for improved neurologic function but needs further confirmation through replication trials.
