This study analyzed the effectiveness and safety of casirivimab plus imdevimab (CAS + IMD) versus placebo in immunocompromised (IC) individuals with COVID-19. Out of 1,940 patients, 99 (5.1%) were IC. IC patients had higher baseline viral loads and were more frequently seronegative for SARS-CoV-2 antibodies. While IC patients on placebo showed slower viral load declines, CAS + IMD reduced viral load in both IC and overall patients. The incidence of death or mechanical ventilation at day 29 was lower with CAS + IMD for IC patients and consistent with overall patients. Rates of adverse events were similar between IC and overall patients receiving CAS + IMD. The study concludes that CAS + IMD effectively reduced viral load and improved clinical outcomes for IC and overall study patients with no new safety concerns for IC patients.
