Effectiveness, safety and tolerability of perampanel by age group when used to treat people with focal and generalized epilepsy in clinical practice

A comprehensive study on perampanel's (PER) effectiveness and safety in epilepsy patients in everyday clinical practice reveals promising results. The study, involving 6,822 individuals with epilepsy, found that PER effectively reduced seizures, with 61.4% retention at 12 months. Notably, responder rates were 58.5% for total seizures, 54.6% for focal seizures, and 77.7% for generalized seizures. Notably, the study demonstrated PER's efficacy across age groups, especially in patients aged ≥65 years. Overall, the largest PER clinical practice data analysis highlights its effectiveness and tolerability in treating epilepsy with no unexpected side effects.
