In the INBUILD trial, researchers examined the effects of nintedanib on pulmonary fibrosis symptoms using the Living with Pulmonary Fibrosis (L-PF) questionnaire. Results from 663 treated patients showed significant improvements in symptom scores, particularly in dyspnoea, fatigue, and cough, compared to the placebo group at week 52. Nintedanib notably reduced the worsening of symptoms and impacts of interstitial lung disease (ILD) over the study period, regardless of fibrotic pattern on HRCT. This suggests nintedanib's potential to alleviate the burden of progressive pulmonary fibrosis (PPF) on patients' lives.
