A 4-week, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) study aimed to assess its impact on adolescents with obesity. Results showed that HIIT didn't significantly affect cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) or intrahepatic triglyceride content (IHTG) for the whole group. However, among those with elevated IHTG, HIIT did reduce it slightly. Notably, the HIIT program led to a decrease in 2-hour glucose levels, indicating improved cardiometabolic health. Overall, while it didn't significantly reduce IHTG for all participants, the study suggests that HIIT can modestly enhance cardiometabolic markers in obese adolescents, offering potential benefits for their health.
