A study has revealed a promising alternative treatment for overactive bladder (OAB) using onabotulinumtoxinA. In this study, patients with OAB and urinary incontinence (UI) were injected with onabotulinumtoxinA at 10 lower bladder sites. Results at week 12 showed a significant reduction in daily UI episodes compared to a placebo group. Moreover, patients treated with onabotulinumtoxinA reported improved quality of life. Notably, only 2.6% of patients required catheterization during the treatment, indicating a reduced need for this procedure.
