
A study evaluating the safety and effectiveness of the dipeptidyl peptidase‐4 inhibitor, cetagliptin, as a standalone treatment for Chinese patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) struggling with glycemic control, promising results have emerged. T2D patients, with some receiving cetagliptin 50 mg or 100 mg once daily, while others received a placebo. After 24 weeks, the HbA1c levels in the cetagliptin groups showed significant reductions, outperforming the placebo group by a substantial margin. The study also found fasting and postmeal plasma glucose improvements without increased adverse effects or hypoglycemia.
