The retrospective study compared nasobiliary tube cutting versus conventional stenting in 208 patients with hilar malignant biliary strictures. Cholangitis incidence was significantly lower in the nasobiliary tube cutting group (11.7% vs. 26.7%). Successful drainage rates were similar, though bilirubin reduction was greater. However, hospital stay was longer. The findings suggest nasobiliary tube cutting as a promising alternative to reduce cholangitis risk post-drainage.
