Efficacy and safety of the neonatal Fc receptor inhibitor efgartigimod in adults with primary immune thrombocytopenia

A study revealed that Efgartigimod significantly increased platelet counts in patients, especially those with a history of multiple therapies. The study included 205 patients and showed a 22% response rate with efgartigimod versus 5% with a placebo. Efgartigimod was well-tolerated, with mild to moderate side effects. Even patients with a history of multiple treatments saw substantial improvements. The study marks a significant advancement in treating this autoimmune disorder.
