This systematic review and meta-analysis, based on 15 randomized controlled trials, evaluates the use of liposomal bupivacaine (LB) in shoulder surgery. LB was compared to various other anesthetic modalities in terms of postoperative pain control, opioid consumption, and complications. Single-injection LB nerve blocks showed superiority by significantly reducing pain and opioid consumption within the first 72 hours after surgery compared to other anesthetic agents.
