The study evaluates the effectiveness of the PEREI programs in reducing mental health issues among emergency service personnel, such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety. The PEREI initiative consists of three tailored programs: internet-delivered cognitive training in resilience for early-career responders (iCT-R), a program for supervisors (PEREI-S), and Be Well for Significant Others (BW-SO). Up to 450 early-career responders, their adult supports, and 180 supervisors will be randomly assigned to either the PEREI programs or standard mental health support. Pre- and post-program assessments, as well as 6- and 12-month follow-ups, will measure primary outcomes (PTSD and depression severity) and secondary outcomes such as mediators, moderators, and cost-effectiveness. Results will provide insight into effective strategies for reducing mental health risks in high-stress occupations.
