A study analyzed emergency department (ED) visits within 30 days of endoscopic skull base surgery (ESBS) and identified risk factors for readmission. Out of 593 ESBS cases, 104 patients (17.5%) visited the ED within 30 days, with a median presentation of 6 days post-discharge. Of these, 54 patients were discharged, while 50 were readmitted. Older age was significantly associated with readmission. The most common discharge diagnoses were headache and epistaxis, while serum abnormality and altered mental status were the most common readmitting diagnoses. Readmitted patients underwent more laboratory testing than discharged patients.

A 10-year retrospective study of 238 men with intermediate-risk prostate cancer found that lower pretreatment tumor ADC on multiparametric MRI was associated with worse long-term outcomes. Patients with ADC ≤0.668 × 10⁻³ mm²/s had nearly four times higher risk of distant metastasis, suggesting ADC may provide additional prognostic information beyond standard clinical risk classification.
