End-Organ Function Improvement with TEER in Severe TR Patients

The TRILUMINATE Pivotal trial examined end-organ function after tricuspid transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) in patients with severe tricuspid regurgitation (TR). While baseline end-organ impairment (eGFR <45 or MELD-XI >15) predicted higher heart failure hospitalizations and mortality, no significant differences in eGFR or MELD-XI were found at 12 months between TEER and control groups. However, successful TEER showed small but significant improvements in eGFR and MELD-XI, suggesting potential benefits for end-organ function.
