Climate change is intensifying seasonal temperatures and heat extremes, potentially impacting endocrine function and increasing heat injury risks. The effects of high temperatures on endocrine axis development, and diseases related to hormone imbalances, remain unclear. This Perspective reviews the hormonal impacts of heat exposure across species and examines potential risks for patients with endocrine disorders. It underscores the need for further basic, clinical, and epidemiological research to develop interventions for those most vulnerable to heat-related health issues.
