The meta-analysis of 12 studies evaluated endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS) in patients aged 55+ with chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS). ESS resulted in a significant reduction of 21.4 points in SNOT-22 scores, indicating meaningful clinical improvement. Nasal polyposis was a positive predictor. Adverse events were low, though older patients showed a higher risk of skull base injury. ESS is safe and effective, with outcomes similar to younger adults.
