Endoscopic vidian and vidian‐branch neurectomy for refractory allergic rhinitis

A systematic review and meta-analysis have shed light on the effectiveness of endoscopic vidian neurectomy (EVN) for patients with refractory allergic rhinitis (AR). The study encompassed 24 clinical trials involving 1,677 patients, with promising results. Patients who underwent vidian or selective vidian neurectomy reported significant improvements in nasal symptoms and quality of life, surpassing conservative treatments. However, EVN carries a higher risk of complications such as dry eyes and palatal numbness.
