A study conducted in Puerto Rico evaluated the effectiveness of the Epidemiological Intelligence Community Network (EpI-Net) community-based intervention in increasing COVID-19 testing uptake and prevention practices among socially vulnerable communities (SVC). The study involved 24 community leaders who completed four community workshops. Pre- and post-assessments were conducted to measure changes in test scores and satisfaction. The results indicated high retention rates among community leaders and significant improvements in post-test scores for community engagement strategies, COVID-19 prevention practices, and public health emergency management strategies. Overall workshop satisfaction was reported to be 99.6%. These findings highlight the importance of community capacity building in improving intervention feasibility and impact.
