Community-acquired bacterial meningitis (CABM) poses a significant health risk for children, leading to notable morbidity and mortality. The epidemiology of CABM varies regionally and is dynamic. To enhance understanding and address the disease's impact, a retrospective analysis of 918 CABM cases in children (0–14 years) in Zhejiang Province from January 2019 to December 2020 was conducted. Findings revealed an annual incidence rate of 4.42–6.15/100,000, an annual mortality rate of 0.06–0.09/100,000, and a 94.4% cure/improvement rate, with E. coli and GBS prominent in infants <3 months and S. pneumoniae in children ≥3 months. Notably, neuroimaging abnormalities occurred in 20.6% of cases, leading to a heavy economic burden.
