Epigenetic Targeting Reduces Keloid Fibroblast Proliferation and Migration

Keloids are pathological scars impacting quality of life. This study evaluates epigenetic targeting strategies in keloid fibroblasts using inhibitors of HDACs, LSD1, CoREST, and p300. Results show corin, a CoREST inhibitor, and entinostat, an HDAC inhibitor, significantly reduce fibroblast proliferation. Corin also effectively inhibits migration and invasion. RNA-seq analysis reveals corin's impact on gene regulation, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic approach for keloid treatment.
