Erenumab's Long-Term Efficacy and Safety in Episodic Migraine

The LIBERTY study's open-label extension phase (OLEP) evaluated erenumab's efficacy and safety in episodic migraine (EM) patients with 2-4 prior preventive treatment failures over 3 years. Of 246 participants, 97.6% entered OLEP, with 70.0% completing the study. Overall, 52.3% achieved ≥50% reduction in monthly migraine days (MMDs) at week 168. In the continuous erenumab group, 74.3% of initial responders maintained ≥50% reduction in MMDs. Mean MMD change from baseline was -4.4 days at week 168. Erenumab (140 mg) demonstrated sustained efficacy and a consistent safety profile over 3 years in EM patients with prior treatment failures.
