The study involved 183 patients to assess whether the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) could replace measured GFR (mGFR) in partial nephrectomy (PN) trials. The 2009 eGFRcr(AS) equations showed similar accuracy to mGFR, with >90% accuracy both pre- and post-operation. However, the 2021 eGFRcr(AS) equation had lower accuracy (78.6% pre-op, 66.5% post-op). The study suggests using the 2009 eGFRcr(AS) equation as a potential alternative to mGFR, reducing costs and patient burden in PN trials.
