In a recent study published in the Journal of Child Health Care, the significance of trust in the relationship between mothers of hospitalized children and pediatric nurses was highlighted. The study was conducted through qualitative interviews with eight mothers, which identified three key themes: "assessing the trustworthiness of pediatric nurses," "overcoming emotional burden caused by the child's hospitalization," and "newly recognizing the importance of pediatric nurses." Seven sub-themes were also identified. The study revealed that mothers experienced guilt and stress as primary caregivers but found solace in trusting pediatric nurses, leading to empowerment and increased confidence. The research emphasized the pivotal role of trust in providing emotional support and empowerment for mothers during their child's hospitalization. It suggested that pediatric nurses should explore trust-building strategies and develop tools and interventions to facilitate trust-building based on the unique experiences highlighted in the study.
